Nov Reminder

1 Deadline for Students to submit Research Proposals for Ethics to program office for approval to commence in January 2023.

3 Deadline for submission of Ethics Proposals requiring ORE approval for MRP Research using human subjects to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

8 Drop Deadline: Deadline to drop course(s) without receiving a grade.

8 Deadline for Graduate Programs to submit Research Proposals for Ethics to FGS for approval to commence in January 2023.

10 Deadline for the Faculty of Graduate Studies to receive recommendations for Oral examination from Graduate Programs for Doctoral students expected to fulfill all degree requirements for February 2024 convocation.

15 Recommended deadline to submit Academic Petition (e.g. leave of absence, change to part-time/full-time status, extension of program time limits, reinstatement) for Winter [WI24] term (processing before W24 guaranteed).

17 Deadline for the Faculty of Graduate Studies to receive recommendations for Oral examination from Graduate Programs for Master's students expected to fulfill all degree requirements for February 2024 convocation.

21 Recommended date to apply for Winter-only OSAP and submit supporting documents. 

30 Deadline for Graduate students to apply to graduate in February 2024.

Dec Reminder

8 Last day to hold Master’s/Doctoral defence exams in the Fall [FA23] term (for Fall term completion). Exams held after this date will be coded for Winter term [WI24].

15 Students who did not register for Fall term [FA23] will be withdrawn from the program for failure to maintain continuous registration unless a Leave of Absence was approved.

20 Deadline to register for Winter term.

21 $200 Late registration fee for Winter term will be applied

31 Deadline to upload Electronic Thesis and Dissertation for FA23 completion and February 2024 degree conferral.

31 Final deadline to submit Academic Petition (e.g. leave of absence, change to part-time/full-time status, extension of program time limits, reinstatement) for Winter [WI24] term (processing before W24 not guaranteed).

WINTER 2024

Feb Reminder

8 Deadline to drop course(s) without receiving a grade for Fall/Winter [Y23-24] term courses. Courses dropped after this date, via petition, will be given a W grade.

15 Refund—80% refund for Winter [WI24] term. 

29 Refund—40% refund for Winter [WI23] term.

March Reminder

11 Deadline to drop a course without receiving a grade for Winter [WI24] term courses. Course dropped after this date (via petition) will be reflected with a W grade.

12 Deadline for the Faculty of Graduate Studies to receive recommendations for Oral examination from Graduate Programs for Doctoral students expected to fulfill all degree requirements for June 2024 convocation.

19 Deadline for the Faculty of Graduate Studies to receive recommendations for Oral examination from Graduate Programs for Master's students expected to fulfill all degree requirements for June 2024 convocation.

TBD Summer [SU24] term registration and enrolment online access begins.

April Reminder

8 Fall/Winter [Y23-24] and Winter [WI24] term classes end.

19 Deadline to hold Master’s/Doctoral defence exams in the Winter [WI24] term to fulfill part of the requirements in order to graduate for June 2024 convocation.

30 Deadline to upload Electronic Thesis and Dissertation for Winter [WI24] term and fulfill final requirements in order to graduate and be eligible for June 2024 convocation ceremony.

30 All degree requirements, including final grades, must be met by April 30, 2024 to convocate in June 2024.

30 Deadline for Graduate Students to apply to graduate for Spring 2024 Convocation.
