SSHRC & OGS Feedback/Exchange
For those of you who have decided to apply for SSHRC and/or OGS this year, the GFWSSA offers two main forms of additional support. First, we have an archive of successful proposals (thank you to everyone who has offered their work!). These are accessible at all times on this website. Second, we facilitate a feedback/exchange.
For those of you who would like to participate in our feedback/exchange, through which you would both give and receive feedback, please fill out this form by Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:59pm. We will then connect interested participants over email so you can schedule your own feedback and document exchange. If there are others who are currently not planning to apply for SSHRC and/or OGS but are open to providing feedback to applicants, please also indicate this on the form. It is always great to get as many eyes on your porposal as you can.
The GFWSSA will do our to answer any questions you may have around the application process, and will continue to advocate for continued and improved university and departmental support for potential applicants.
Please direct any specific questions about funding proposal documents and deadlines to our GPA, Yemi Adebisi (gpagfws@yorku.ca) and FGS Research Officer, Suzette Fernandes (sfern@yorku.ca).

Our Undergraduate Program Director (UPD) is asking that, as much as is possible, we submit the finalized workload forms as soon as we can following the completion of all remediation work.
Course Directors are asked to sign and date the form before submitting to the UPD e-address: gswsupd@yorku.ca If you submitted the original form to Sue, please contact her at sbrizzi@yorku.ca to make arrangements to retrieve the document, so that you can fill in the hours you worked and send it back to your CD for signing.
Click here to read more information from the Chief Steward for Unit 1, including clarifications the rumored 22 hour cap and the rest of the remediation process in LAPS.

Announcement below copied from our lovely Gary!
Hey all,
It's a bit of a farce to ask those whom York is attempting to withhold rightful compensation from, to add to said unpaid labor by keeping detailed notes of hours worked and filling out forms like the one lnked below, but this is the incredulous spot we find ourselves in post-strike. So, if those of you who had/have Unit 1 contracts from this past fall/winter can find a free moment to please fill in this google doc it would be so helpful. The concrete data gathered will help inform CUPE's bargaining team so that they can bring the case regarding remediation workload issues to arbitration.
CUPE is asking we do our best to get all our program peers to fill this out. We'll send a reminder out in a few days.
Faculties and departments across York have received varying responses to remediation plans and proposed hours of work. CUPE said they will stand behind anyone who works more than 22 hours remediation-wise and is then threatened with incomplete payment for said work. The union will back filing grievances for any and all members who experience this bullshit. Compiling information through this google doc is a way to push back against this ridiculous 22 hours directive we are getting from the Associate Dean of LA&PS, and perhaps curb this crap before it becomes a bigger i$$ue.
August 7th, 2018
The TA posting date is tomorrow (August 8th) and will close on August 15th. Following this, TA positions will be assigned and offers will be sent out.

Welcome to our new website for the Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies Student Association! This is a work in progress, but over the next few months we hope this will become a central place for information relating to our studies, our work and, most importantly, our GFWSSA community.
We have decided to share this link earlier than intended, in order to collate information coming in about the strike from all the various organizations and bodies involved. We hope this will help you track and follow information and updates, as so much gets lost over facebook feeds and listserv emails.
Big love and hugs from all of us to all of you!
